Training Exceptional Dancers
Contemporary Dance
The Carret Dance Conservatory Contemporary Division strives to produce a versatile, musical, and technical contemporary dancer able to meet today’s professional demands and performance standards.

The Contemporary Program offers its dancers training in a wide variety of fundamental technique and modern styles. Dancers take regular classes in Graham, Limon, and Afro-Contemporary Cuban styles as well as ballet technique, conditioning, composition, contact, and Flying Low technique.

All Contemporary Division students also participate in special professional workshops in dancer health, Spanish and character dance, dance history, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean and popular Cuban dances.

We believe performance opportunities are vital to a dancers' artistic growth. At TCDC students perform in a minimum of two dance showcases each year at downtown professional theatres.
