Saniya Abimajinova was born and grew up in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. As a dancer, she graduated from the Moscow Choreographic Academy in 2007. Saniya also earned her Master Teacher of Classical Ballet designation at University of the Moscow Academy of Choreography, During residence in Moscow, Saniya worked at the Moscow Theatre of the Opera and Ballet, named by Natalya Satc, where she danced leading roles in the classical repertoire. She also participated in many international ballet competitions and winning three diplomas, gold and silver medals for both duets and solo variations.
From 2009 Saniya has performed with Ballet Jorgen as a Principal Dancer. Saniya has danced leading roles in The Nutcracker, Paquita, Snow Girl, Chipollino, Anastasia, Cinderella, Coppelia, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, and Balanchine’s Who Cares.
Saniya teaches ballet master classes and classical repertoire at Ballet Jorgen and George Brown College.
